According to Facebook, she’s a “21-year old romantic, composing sweet and honest songs about living in the city.” There’s definitely a tenderness and wide-eyed optimism evident in her songwriting. Lara has a playful, dewy-eyed and fresh take on the world, as yet hardly blemished by the stains of routine. 

Listening to her songs, I was able to think back to when I was in the first throes of teenage love. We were soulmates and this was never going to end. We could laugh more than anybody else because we had time on our side. It was enough to have her and nobody else in my life. Then, there was beauty in every blade of grass but somewhere down the line, that sense of ever-prevailing romance has diminished. 

With Lara’s help, the perils of getting older and world-weary faded in temporary respite. Her set was that good.
