“I just wanted to get in touch as I’m looking after a brand new festival, which launched late last year as a companion event to the much-loved Cambridge Folk Festival. “CITY ROOTS” will be running from Feb 3rd – 11th as a Cambridge city-wide, multi-venue festival set up to celebrate folk and roots music,” said the message.
It went on to mention Salif Keita, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Eddi Reader and Mad Dog McRea amongst lots of other names. But, my gaze was already cast. At the bottom of the mail was news that Steven James Adams was going to be opening this festival at the Portland Arms on the 3rd with a show together with a new band.
It was all I needed to know. Friday can’t come soon enough.
